Minicozzi to lead Ferry Hawks

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Staten Island FerryHawks are excited to announce that Mark Minicozzi will be their manager for the upcoming 2024 season.

Mark Minicozzi was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2005 Major League Baseball (MLB) Player Draft. He spent 12 years playing professional baseball in minor and independent leagues both in the United States and internationally.

Minicozzi began his managing career in 2021 for the Charleston Dirty Birds of the Atlantic League, leading the team to a playoff berth by winning the second-half Atlantic League South Division Title. In 2022, he served as manager for the Atlantic League’s Kentucky Wild Health Genomes and in 2023, he managed the Spire City Hounds.

"I am excited for the opportunity to join the Staten Island FerryHawks organization and lead Hawk City for the 2024 season. Our goal is to build a championship caliber team that is devoted to our city on and off the field. I know and feel the passion of Staten Island and the New York sports community and will work tirelessly to make our community proud of the FerryHawks for 2024 and into the future," said Minicozzi.

“Mark’s teams score runs and play exciting, high-octane baseball.  He knows the Atlantic League and independent baseball very well and has a proven track record to recruit and develop talented players. We are excited to introduce him to our fans and engage him with the Staten Island community.” said FerryHawks President and Co-Owner, Eric Shuffler.

FerryHawks Chairman and Co-owner John Catsimatidis said, “Our goal is to bring the Atlantic League pennant to Staten Island. Our great fans deserve it. They are passionate and we need their support to root, root, root for the home team!”
