The Week Ahead: Staten Island starts the week with a five-game winning streak and has won seven of eight as it prepares to host Charleson in a midweek four-game set… So. Maryland starts the week with 999 all-time wins. 
 
The Week That Was: Staten Island went 5-1 last week while outscoring its opponents 55-28, and out-homering the opposition 17-5… So. Maryland, York and Lancaster all spent time in first place in the North Division.
 
Streaking: High Point’s D.J. Burt has reached base in 48 straight games… Carlos Franco’s 50-game streak for York in 2022 is the longest in the league since 2019… Gastonia has multiple homers in four straight and Staten Island has homered in 11 consecutive games.
 
Walk-offs: Long Island walked off Staten Island 3-2 on 8/8 on a Boog Powell sac fly… 
 
Grand Slams: Gastonia’s Braxton Davidson vs. Spire City on 8/10… Spire City’s Osvaldo Abreu vs. Lancaster 8/12… High Point’s Brian Parreira at Charleston, 8/12… Staten Island’s Chris Brito vs. So. Maryland on 8/13
 
Milestones: Long Island’s Lew Ford homered on Sunday to extend his record for the oldest to homer in an ALPB game at 47 years, 1 day... Gastonia’s Zach Jarrett became the first in the ALPB to achieve 20-20 status with 22 homers and 21 stolen bases… It is Jarrett’s second consecutive year following last year’s 21 HR, 32 SB season… High Point and Charleston played the ALPB’s longest game of the year with the Rockers winning 6-5 in 13 innings on 8/11… With 754 career ALPB games, Spire City’s Scott Kelly ranks 15th all-time in games played. 
 
Odd Stat: Lancaster had five doubles in a seven-run sixth inning at York on 8/9… Three of the doubles came consecutively from Wilson Garcia, Joseph Carpenter and Shawon Dunston, Jr. 
 Midweek Marvels: High Point’s Mickey Jannis won his 10th game of the year with a 9-4 win over Staten Island on 8/8… Long Island’s Joe Iorio struck out a career-high 10 in six innings vs. So. Maryland on 8/8… York’s Tomo Otosake drew four walks from Lancaster on 8/9… Charleston’s Kit Scheetz struck out 10 in just 4.2 innings vs. Lexington on 8/9… Angel Aguilar and Luis Castro each had four RBI in a 14-4 win at High Point 8/9 and Castro followed with another four-RBI game the next night… J.C. Perez drove in six runs vs. Lexington on 8/10 and had nine RBI in the series… Staten Island’s Roldani Baldwin was 5-for-9 vs. High Point… Braxton Davidson was 4-for-9 vs. Spire City with three home runs.
 
Weekend Wonders: Spire City’s Kole Cottam drove in five runs with a pair of homers in a win over Lancaster 8/12… High Point’s Brian Parreira hit two homers and drove in five at Charleston on 8/12… Gastonia’s David Washington had two HR, five RBI at Long Island 8/13… Lancaster’s Brent Teller retired 21 of the final 22 batters he faced in a 7-2 win over Spire City on 8/13… Lancaster’s Melvin Mercedes went 6-for-10 vs. Spire City… Staten Island’s Chris Brito drove in eight runs vs. Southern Maryland… Charleston’s Jalen Miller had five extra base hits vs. High Point
  
Team Efforts: So. Maryland scored five runs in the top of the seventh to break a 2-2 tie and defeat Long Island 7-3 on 8/11… Staten Island’s Angel Aguilar, Yoshi Tsutsugo and Chris Brito homered consecutively in the third inning vs. So. Maryland on 8/12… Lancaster is hitting .320 in August… Staten Island has 28 homers in 12 August games.  
 
Pitching Plaudits: Charleston’s staff struck out 18 High Point hitters on 8/11, the most by an ALPB staff this season… High Point’s pitchers fanned 15 Charleston hitters for a total of 33 Ks in the game… Charleston’s staff held Lexington to four hits on 8/8 and High Point to three hits on 8/13… With a win Sunday, Lancaster’s Brent Teller has won eight of his last nine decisions… Lexington swept York on the weekend and allowed the Revs just six runs.
 
Best of the Week: Staten Island’s Angel Aguilar had 12 hits and 14 RBI on the week including three homers… Charleston’s Danny Wirchansky, Lancaster’s Brent Teller and Gastonia’s Brett Daniels each picked up a pair of wins… Wirchansky fanned 14 in 13 innings.
