The Long Island Ducks won the 1,600th game in franchise history on Thursday, July 27 with a 6-5 walk-off win over the Spire City Ghost Hounds. Wilson Ramos scored from third on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Win No. 1600 for the Ducks comes just weeks after they surpassed the Somerset Patriots as the winningest club in Atlantic League history. On June 17, 2023, Long Island defeated York 13-11 to win its 1,581st all-time game. That pushed the Ducks past Somerset which won 1,580 games during its tenure in the Atlantic League from 1998 through 2019.
Long Island has averaged over 74 wins per season, the most of any current club in the Atlantic League. The Ducks' four championships are the most of any active club after claiming the ALPB title in 2004, 2012, 2013 and 2019. Long Island has already secured a spot in the 2023 Atlantic League postseason by winning the North Division’s first half title. The Ducks have appeared in 15 Division Championship Series and have advanced to nine League Championship Series.
