The Week Ahead: North leader So. Maryland visits South leader Gastonia during the midweek series… Each team holds a narrow ½ game lead over their closest competitor… The Blue Crabs will play all six games on the road this week while in the South, both Gastonia and High Point will each be at home all week… North challenger York is home for all six games this week… Long Island hosts Charleston before the Ducks spend the weekend in York. 
 
The Week That Was: York’s nine-game winning streak came to a halt with a 10-7 loss at home to Staten Island on 6/7… Poor air quality due to Canadian wildfires postponed games at Lancaster and Long Island (Tues) and at York (Wed).
 
Streaking: Frederick’s Jose Marmolejos is riding the ALPB’s longest active hitting streak at 11 games… Lancaster’s Andretty Cordero has scored a run in 10 straight.
 
Midweek Marvels: High Point’s Michael Russell hit .538 (7-for-13) in the midweek series vs. So. Maryland… Long Island’s Adeiny Hechavarria had seven RBI vs. Frederick.
 
Weekend Wonders: Frederick’s Kole Cottam hit the first inside-the-park homer in club history vs. Gastonia on 6/11. It was one of his league-high three homers on the weekend… Cottam slashed .667/1.750/2.417 vs. Gastonia… York’s Trey Martin hit .643 (9-for-14) with two home runs and six RBI at Long Island… High Point’s Shed Long, Jr. tied Martin for the weekend RBI lead with six… Staten Island’s Roldani Baldwin had four doubles vs. Lancaster...Long Island’s Ian Clarkin struck out 10 in six innings vs. York on 6/9... Gastonia’s Jack Reinheimer stole home in the top of the ninth to beat Frederick 5-4 on 6/9. 
 
Odd Stat: There were seven lead changes in Long Island’s 12-10 win over York on 6/10.
Late Inning Heroics: Frederick scored seven runs in the ninth to beat Gastonia 9-6 on 6/11… Not to be outdone, So. Maryland scored eight runs in the bottom of the ninth to down Lancaster 10-9 on 6/12. 
 
Welcome Wagon: Long Island’s Alejandro De Aza, who earned Postseason All-Star honors in 2022 while leading the ALPB with a .343 batting average, made his 2023 debut this week in his first five games, hit .385 (5-for-13) with a double and five RBI...  Staten Island’s Brandon Pugh made his ALPB debut on 6/9 and delivered a homer, triple and five RBI in a win over Lancaster. 
 
Milestones: Trayvon Robinson’s 500th ALPB hit came on 6/9 at Staten Island with a fourth inning RBI single… Charleston’s Dwight Smith, Jr. reached his 1,000th pro hit vs. High Point on 6/10…Lancaster’s Dominic DiSabatino won his 20th ALPB game vs. Staten Island (6/11). 
 
Team Efforts: Long Island had a 7-run first inning in a 13-3 win over Frederick on 6/6…Four Gastonia pitchers held Charleston to three hits while striking out 14 on 6/6… Lexington completed a perfect homestand (6-0) with an 8-0 win over Lexington on 6/8… Staten Island rapped 10 extra base hits in a 12-7 win over Lancaster on 6/9 to snap the ‘Stormers six-game winning streak… Lexington had 21 hits in an 11-4 win over So. Maryland on 6/9… Lancaster pitchers held Staten Island to three hits on 6/10… So. Maryland’s staff held Lexington to three hits on 6/10… High Point pitchers retired the last 19 hitters they faced in a 5-1 win at Charleston on 6/11. 
 
Walk-offs: Telvin Nash had a basehit in the 12th to walk-off High Point on 6/10… Jose Marmolejos hit a three-run walk-off homer to beat Gastonia 9-6 on 6/11… So. Maryland’s Jose Rosario hit a sac fly to score Alex Crosby and beat Lancaster 10-9 on 6/12. 
 
Grand Slams: York’s Nellie Rodriguez vs. Staten Island, 6/6… Braxton Lee of So. Maryland vs. Lexington, 6/10.
 
Off The Field: Long Island achieved its 700th sell-out vs. York on 6/10… The Ducks drew 6,082, the league-high for the season.
 
 
Odds & Ends: High Point’s Shed Long, Jr. and Charleston’s Jalen Miller each led off their games with a home run on 6/8... Gastonia’s Carlos Franco hit a game-winning three-run homer in the top of the ninth of a 4-1 win at Charleston (6/6)… Isaias Quiroz blasted a go-ahead solo homer in the ninth to beat High Point 3-2 on 6/8.
 
Long At-Bat of the Week: Staten Island’s Jesse Remington used 13 pitches to strike out Lancaster’s Yeison Coca on 6/9.
