March 5, 2021, Waldorf, MD - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs’ Regency Furniture Stadium was recently named a mass vaccination site by the State of Maryland. The site is supported by FEMA and employs over 100 personnel. The stadium’s parking lot has quickly transformed into a site that has the infrastructure to vaccinate 6,000 Marylanders, seven days a week. To date, 15,000 appointments have already been made at the Regency Furniture Stadium mass vaccination site, and FEMA expects to vaccinate 750,000 people by the end of August.

 

On Friday, March 5, Governor Larry Hogan came to Regency Furniture Stadium to tour the site alongside Blue Crabs General Manager, Courtney Knichel, and FEMA. The Governor, who proudly wore his new Blue Crabs hat, said, “I would like to thank the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs for their partnership and willingness to help us on this project.”
