Jeff Scott was named Manager of the Year by the Atlantic League for his work with the Road Warriors in 2007. Scott also managed the travel team in 2006 after serving as pitching coach for the Somerset Patriots and Long Island Ducks previously.
Scott has previously worked for The Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, St Louis Cardinals, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers serving as Director of Player Personnel with Detroit, Scouting Director in Seattle, St Louis, and Cleveland as well as managing and coaching for a number of years with Texas and Seattle.
“I’ve had a lot of fun with the Road Warriors over the past two years and I feel certain there were many times Atlantic League teams were not too happy to see us pull into town,” said Scott.
“My players competed hard and always did their best, I was always proud of the way they represented the league,” he added.
Like his players, Scott is a Free Agent too and is looking for his next opportunity in professional baseball. “Of course I’m ready for the next opportunity,” he iterated when asked for the hundredth time, “That’s what we do.”
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs will join the Atlantic League in 2008 and fill the spot of the Road Warriors in the eight team league.
