Road Warrior Outfielder Steven Doetsch has been named to the 2007 Atlantic League Post Season All Star Team. Doetsch, 23, joined his Manager Jeff Scott as the travel team representatives on this years’ squad.
Doetsch, RR, a 6-2, 195 pound outfielder was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the fourteenth round of the June, 2003 First Year Player Draft and played in the Braves organization until being released at the close of the 2007 Minor League Spring Training Camp.
His .280 lifetime average which was compiled in Rookie league and Class A baseball gave him the base to flourish in the travel team environment. Jeff Scott, his manager, said, “Steven is an extremely hard worker who has taken advantage of his Road Warrior time improving greatly over the season and has shown the development of power with 22 home runs among his 50 extra base hits in 2007. His .284 average showed consistency while his seven triples gave evidence to his speed and ranked among the league leaders in that category. His tools are excellent and we expect he will parlay his time in the Atlantic League into his next opportunity in professional baseball.”
