The Atlantic League of professional Baseball Clubs set a new high water mark in their tenth year by attracting 1,977,113 to their games this past summer toppling the old record of 1,910,952 set in 2006 for their 126 games schedule.
The all time Atlantic League attendance record is 2,032,426 set in 2005 when the league featured a 140 game schedule (also 2000). That record too, is expected to fall in 2008 as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs join the league for their inaugural season.
For the first time in the ten year history of the league, the average attendance topped 4,000 to finish at 4,153 for the 476 openings in 2007.
The 2007 attendance brought the ten year total attendance to 16,614,589 and gave the league the impetus to not only look forward to Southern Maryland in 2008 but to serving its 20,000,000th fan sometime during the 2009 season.
The Atlantic League of Professional baseball Clubs, Inc. is in its tenth season of play.
