ALPB Attendance Eclipses Two Million Fans for Eighth Time in 11 Years

09/09/2015 3:36 PM -

The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB), the most innovative league in baseball, today announced that its regular season attendance has surpassed two million fans for the fourth consecutive season and the eighth time in 11 years. As a result, cumulative attendance passed 34 million since League play began in 1998.

“Atlantic League attendance reflects the outstanding fan base we are incredibly fortunate to have and the ongoing efforts of Club personnel who work so hard every day to reach those fans,” said Rick White, President of the ALPB, who added, “Today’s announcement is indicative of the growth and stability of the League.”

Through 500 games, the Long Island Ducks of the Liberty Division have the highest attendance figures at 348,401 fans with an average attendance of 5,279 per game. The Club has hosted 11 sellouts this season and has already passed last year’s total of 344,543 fans.

About The Atlantic League

The Atlantic League is the most innovative league in professional baseball, offers the highest level of minor league baseball playing skills, and is a player gateway to Major League Baseball. Its mission is to bring a high level of professional baseball and affordable family entertainment to select communities not presently being served by Major League or Minor League teams. ALPB players are highly experienced professionals, having progressed through professional baseball’s developmental levels (A, AA, AAA). Over 40% of all Atlantic League players have Major League service time. Like MLB, Atlantic League clubs pay their players to win baseball games, not to apprentice as in baseball’s developmental levels. The following teams play in the Atlantic League: Bridgeport Bluefish, Camden Riversharks, Lancaster Barnstormers, Long Island Ducks, Somerset Patriots, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, Sugar Land Skeeters, and York Revolution.
